Tonight was an exciting battle in the Anemone Horse Trucks\nGrand Prix of Amsterdam powered by Stoeterij Sterrehof. Julien Epaillard\ndefeated ten competitors with the 13-year-old mare Toupie de la Roque (f.\nKannan) in the 11 strong jump-off in a time of 29.58 seconds. Marcus Ehning had\nto settle for second place with the 12-year-old A la Carte NRW (f. Abke) and\nwas not fast enough in a time of 29.69 seconds. Holly Smith completed the\npodium with 12-year-old KWPN’er Denver (f. memphis) by finishing in 31.06 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Epaillard: ”I am very happy with this victory. Marcus\nEhning was very fast in the jump-off. It was not possible for me to turn from\nobstacle 1 to obstacle 2 in the jump-off. That’s why I rode outside and was\nfaster. My mare is very fast and it went very well today.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Toupie has won many major international competitions. In\nDecember she was second in the Grand Prix of Jumping Mechelen over 1.50m. In\nDecember she also performed well in Paris, where she also took second place in\na 1.50m class. She had a break and since 5 months I bring her out on\ncompetitions again. Her next competition is Indoor Brabant in Den Bosch,” said\nEpaillard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I started her as a preparation for Jumping Amsterdam at the\nCSI Basel in Switzerland. She was in good shape there too.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jumping Amsterdam is a fantastic event. The organization is\nperfect. It’s a 5*-plus event. The audience was fantastic at the jump-off and\nthe award ceremony.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
