Tani Joosten KNHS Talent of the Year: ‘I wouldn’t have come this far without Galdal Me’
This afternoon, Tani Joosten was crowned KNHS Talent of the Year. It was a close race with Mel Thijssen, but in the end, Joosten truly earned the title. Young Riders coach Vincent Voorn explained the decision, praising Joosten’s discipline and meticulous planning. “She always delivers when it matters most—that’s real talent.” Meanwhile, Marten Luiten received the audience award.
‘A truly special honor’
“I’m incredibly honored to be named KNHS Talent of the Year. It’s such a special recognition, and I didn’t expect it at all,” Joosten said. “Last year was amazing for me, and being included in the talent development program was already a dream come true. Being part of the talent team was incredible. I might even use the €5,000 prize to buy part of a new horse.
“I especially want to thank Galdal Me’s owner, Hans Hendriks, because this achievement isn’t just mine. He held on to this horse just for me, and I wouldn’t have come this far without Galdal Me. I also want to thank my trainer, Vincent Voorn, my parents, and everyone who has supported me over the years. I hope this year will be even better than the last!”
‘Riding here is an incredible experience’
Last year, Tani Joosten made her debut in the 5* competition at Jumping Amsterdam with Galdal Me. “This year, I’m back again, and riding here is an incredible experience. I hope to achieve even greater results this year. Competing in a few Nations Cups and staying faultless would make it all even better!”
