Tyara Verheijen was the best in the Aeres MBO Barneveld Prize. In the 1.10m with jump-off, she rode a fantastic clear round with the ten-year-old Holsteiner Sancodex. Her time of 28.25 seconds was enough to win.

Top three

Lynne Bijl attempted to stay ahead of Tyara with the twelve-year-old KWPN horse J.Elghorla van Beek (by El Salvador), but the rider just missed out. Lynne finished second in the jump-off with a time of 29.00 seconds. Maud Agterberg completed the top three with Prima Donna ES. She rode the mare to a clear jump-off in 29.41 seconds.

“It went exactly according to plan”

Tyara: “It went very well and went exactly according to plan. I wanted to ride at a fast pace in the jump-off and took the lead in the penultimate line. I also made short turns between the obstacles.”

“I think it’s really cool to ride here.”

“I think it’s really cool to ride here; it’s a super nice event. I rode here last year too. I had a knockdown in the first round then, so today we took revenge. I didn’t have to go through any selection competitions because I got a wild card. I was super happy about that and very grateful.”

Riding nice rounds and having fun

“I’ve only been riding Sancodex for three weeks and this is our third competition. I’m glad I got the chance to ride him. He’s also super sweet. I hope to enjoy riding and having fun this year. Next week we’ll be riding our first 1.20m course.”
