Subli Cup for Phoebe Peters and McMary: “A once-in-a-lifetime experience!”

‘Winning the Subli Cup here at Jumping Amsterdam was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.’ Phoebe Peters is on cloud nine after receiving the beautiful red Subli blanket for her victory with McMary in the 4.5-year-old dressage horses category.

100 points

The combination won the Pavo Cup last summer with overwhelming superiority and even received the maximum score of 100 points from guest judge Simone Pearce. Phoebe and her daughter of Mclaren therefore entered the final as favorites. “It certainly puts some pressure on my shoulders to ride into the ring here with such a horse,” said the English employee of Reesink Horses. “But we know each other very well by now, she always makes me feel very confident.”

A little tense

The impressive hall of the RAI was, of course, something very new and exciting for McMary. “She has a lot of energy of her own and she was a little tense here in the big hall. That benefited the trot even more, but the walk and canter are normally a little more relaxed.”

Dream

Phoebe Peters not only enjoyed her victory, but also her participation in Jumping Amsterdam. “As a little girl, you dream of riding at such a great competition. It’s absolutely amazing and a great honor to be able to ride at Jumping Amsterdam yourself.”

World Championships for Young Dressage Horses

Of course, there are plans for the future with McMary. Phoebe Peters doesn’t want to say too much yet, but the next dream is to participate in the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses.
