Lara van Nek: “Receiving a standing ovation was an incredible experience.”

Lara van Nek and her impressive black stallion All At Once (by Ampère) once again managed to emerge as the best U25 combination at Jumping Amsterdam this morning. The North Holland rider and her horse, bred by her mother Willeke Bos, were also clearly the best in the Freestyle to Music, scoring 77.765%. Although the experienced Swedish combination Cecila Bergakra with My Friend (by Friendship) came dangerously close: 76.575%. In the final part of the U25 tour, the same podium as yesterday in the Grand Prix was created, as Robin Heiden with Hollywood, the clone of the famous stallion Jazz, finished third again: 74.135%.

“He performed just as well as yesterday”

“I was very satisfied, he performed just as well as yesterday. The exercises went really well and he was focused. I was also able to ride him well again. I was a little behind the music in the canter section.”

Good change series

“There is still room for improvement, it’s not 100% yet. In the pirouette in piaffe, he stood still for half a second, so that didn’t go quite right. The pirouettes were better than yesterday and the change series were also very good. I was able to ride better in the series than yesterday, but today they were also on a more favorable line for him.”

Standing ovation

“The award ceremony was awesome. There was a much bigger audience than yesterday. Getting a standing ovation was an amazing experience. Seeing all the horses from the top three perform the piaffe side by side was also fantastic.”
