Today’s international jumping class began with the 1.40m Zegwaard Rioolontstopping Prize. The show was exciting as competitive rider Celine Shoonbroodt-de Azevedo (BEL) earned first place with her mare Venus de l’Eyre. We caught up with her after the class. “The mare jumped really good. I had a good round so I’m happy. I’m going to jump the next class with another mare which I will be riding in the Grand Prix on Sunday so I am going to try to make an easy course for her today just to be comfortable for Sunday.”

In 2018 Celine competed in the Longines Global Champions Tour at Chantilly and Valkenswaard where she placed 1st twice at Chantilly and 2nd at Valkenswaard. We asked her plans are for the next year: “I am going to jump the next World Cup in Bordeaux and then I am going to start in Vilamoura with the young ones. I have quite a few 8 year olds coming and 6 and 7 year olds so I need to prepare a bit for the rest of the season.”
