Germany’s Jessica von Bredow-Werndl pipped reigning champion Isabell Werth for victory at the third leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2019/2020 Western European League in Stuttgart, Germany today.

Second-last to go, 33-year-old von Bredow-Werndl threw down a supremely accurate and attractive Freestyle performance with TSF Dalera BB that earned a big score of 88.440 to put it up to her legendary compatriot who was the final competitor into the ring. And a wobble early in her test left five-time Olympic individual gold medallist Werth battling back with Weihegold who posted 87.240 for runner-up spot.

German riders filled all of the top five places, Helen Langehanenberg (Damsey FRH) lining up third ahead of Dorothee Schneider (DSP Sammy Davis Jr) in fourth and Benjamin Werndl (Daily Mirror) in fifth, while Ireland’s Judy Reynolds (Vancouver K) finished sixth.
