MARTEN LUITEN: ‘FYNONA WAS EVEN BETTER THAN WEDNESDAY’

The round of the Lövsta Future Challenge, the freestyle for the U25 riders, had the same winner today as Wednesday evening, when the classical class was on the program. Marten Luiten and his golden mare Fynona were again the strongest. The combination rode to the winning score of 78.558%. Thea Bech came second with Dionisos (by Spielberg) with 77.125%. Thalia Rockx took third place with Verdi de la Fazenda (by Florett As). The duo scored 76.617%.

‘The canter pirouettes she always turns fine’

”Super nice that I won again now,” Marten Luiten responded enthusiastically. “I thought she ran even finer than on Wednesday. I did have a small mistake, but I went over that line. She was also very fit. The canter section was a highlight of the test for me. She always does the canter pirouettes very nicely and easily and they also came out well today.”

Jacquelien Vriese made a beautiful freestyle”.

Luiten had the music of his freestyle made by Jacquelien Vriese. “She is very creative, so I leave it completely to her. She always makes something beautiful out of it. I think it’s super nice music.”

Willeke Bos

It is also very special that Willeke Bos, the breeder and owner of Fynona, has made the mare to whom Luiten owes everything available for so long. “From the Juniors time I have been riding Fynona, so that’s a lot of years. I think it’s great that she gave me this opportunity. And I may continue to ride Fynona for Willeke for the time being.”

Qualifications Lövsta Future Challenge

”I still have to see if I will ride any more qualifications for the Lövsta Future Challenge. Basically for the Netherlands Thalia Rockx and Jessica Poelman go to the next qualification, but I hope there is still a place for me.”
