From 1 November Pim Bakkenes will become interim director of the international horse show Jumping Amsterdam. He will succeed Annemarike van Putten-Bunschoten, who has chosen another direction after being involved in twelve editions of the event. Pim Bakkenes (35) is familiar with the event, that has been in his portfolio for the last two years while working as an Account manager with RAI Amsterdam. In this capacity, Pim Bakkenes will stay connected to the RAI for the upcoming period and will remain responsible for a number of events that take place in 2019 and 2020. Irene Verheul will keep her position as Project manager (top)sport and operations within the organization of the Amsterdam show.

Paul Riemens, chairman of the board, is sad to see Annemarike van Putten-Bunschoten leave. ‘Since 2007 she was one of the driving forces behind the event. For the past four editions, which took place under her leadership, the event has grown. This is demonstrated by the very successful Jumping Amsterdam of January this year. A solid programme with a great mix of top sport and entertainment, sold out grand stands and lots of praise from riders, sponsors and visitors.’ The board is very content with the interim appointment  of Pim Bakkenes: ’He is experienced and keen and knows his way in the event business. His passion for sports and his professional background all come together in his new job as interim director of Jumping Amsterdam.’
