Germany’s Isabell Werth and Emilio posted their second win in the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2019/2020 Western European League when coming out on top in today’s fifth leg at Salzburg in Austria.

However having posted a strong score of 85.905, the multi-medalled athlete and five-time FEI Dressage World Cup champion had to see off a strong challenge from compatriot Benjamin Werndl riding Daily Mirror, who pushed her all the way in yesterday’s Grand Prix and again today finished a close second when putting 84.705 on the board.

It looked set to be a German whitewash when Helen Langehanenberg and the charming mare, Annabelle, were lying third on 78.150 in the closing stages. But host-nation contenders Victoria Max-Theurer and Benaglio overtook them with a very smart test when second-last into the arena.
