Italy’s Olympian Emanuele Gaudiano and his very sweet mare, Carlotta, kept the audience on the edge of their seats as they dashed to a well-deserved victory in the Marc Boers Flower Export 1.45m class. The duo secured their win with a clear round in 44.55 seconds. After the prize giving, we met up with Gaudiano, keen to take of Carlotta and warm up his horse for the next class. “Today was very good. Carlotta won the first class. She jumped yesterday the big class. She was too excited here in Amsterdam. It didn’t go so well yesterday but today she showed the quality and she won. Today I will ride Kingston, a 9-year-old, in the Grand Prix tonight but it’s his first really big class. I’ve been riding him for 4 months. I don’t know very well the horse. But we will try tonight. And tomorrow Chalou will go to the World Cup and try to qualify for the final. I have 17 points so we will see tomorrow,” Gaudiano said.

“In February I have two five stars, or three 5 stars. Villach in Austria, Bordeaux and then Hong Kong. And then we will see. I hope with Doha, I will see if I get an invitation for the 2nd 5 star Doha,” Gaudiano said when asked his plans for the rest of the year. “It’s not the first time for me in Amsterdam. I’ve ridden in the other shows but this is the first time there’s a 5 star world cup. It’s very great.”
